43 countries watching – now the race is on for the last Saab cars

Bidding is now open for the last Saab cars to leave the factory in Trollhättan, at klaravik.se. Bidding is now open for the last Saab cars to leave the factory in Trollhättan, at klaravik.se.

Today, the auctions of the last Saab cars to leave the factory premises in Trollhättan begin. Interest in these automotive rarities has already been enormous ahead of the event – attracting attention in 43 countries around the world.

– We had a feeling that curiosity about the cars would be strong, given their status and historical significance. But the response has still far exceeded our expectations and been nothing short of overwhelming, says Carita Nero, CEO of Klaravik, on the media coverage surrounding the auctions.

In 43 countries, from Brazil to Japan, these unique Saab cars have attracted media attention – featured in more than 150 articles in total. Today, Thursday, bidding opens on all seven cars (three Saab cars and four Nevs cars) at klaravik.se. All cars are sold without a reserve price.
– It's going to be incredibly exciting to follow. There is a clear collector's value that is sure to attract many, both in Sweden and abroad, Nero continues.

Chance to win a limited Saab miniature model

On May 30, all auctions conclude during a live event in Trollhättan – see exact timings in the fact box below. During the event, you won’t just have the chance to become a historic car owner. There will also be opportunities to make other Saab-related finds – with a high nostalgia factor. At Saturday’s event, limited Saab miniature replicas – produced from recycled concrete from Saab Design Center – will be displayed publicly for the first time. Everyone attending the free event has the chance to win one of the models. Additional models (from a total production run of 150) will also be available for purchase.
– Saturday’s event will truly be an occasion to honour and celebrate Saab, both through the auctions and these limited-edition models, says Nina Selander, CEO of Nevs.

“It should feel worthy”

So what is the expected final price for the last Saab cars to leave the factory?
– That is genuinely uncertain. There are no comparisons to be made, and these cars are such collector’s items that their price limits are hard to predict. But these cars carry a history that no amount of money can fully measure – and we hope that bidders will feel that, concludes Carita Nero.

More about the event on May 30

Nevs and Klaravik invite you to the event at Mellanvägen 5 (Saab Design Center). All cars currently up for auction will be physically present at the venue. Please note that all bidding takes place online at klaravik.se – not in any other way. For foreign bidders, account registration must be completed by Thursday, May 28 at the latest.

Please note: The auction closing times are approximate. If a bid is placed when an auction has less than three minutes remaining, the auction is extended by a further three minutes. This is to give other bidders the opportunity to place counter-bids and to avoid closing out any participants. This is standard practice in online auctions and is comparable to the going-once, going-twice, sold principle used in traditional auction houses.
